![]() ![]() ![]() In 1991, Steve Clark died in his home from a mixture of prescription drugs and alcohol. The songs “Pour Some Sugar on Me”, “Animal”, and “Rocket” were hits songs on that album. In 1987, Def Leppard released their fourth album, “Hysteria”. Rick Allen was committed to playing with the band, and designed a custom electronic drum kit that allowed him to play. The drummer, Rick Allen was involved in a car crash, which caused him to lose his left arm. “Pyromania” was a huge success for Def Leppard as more than 100,000 copies were sold each week. That song was turned into a music video, and was the most requested music video on MTV. In 1983, Def Leppard released, “Pyromania”, which featured the single, “Photograph”. Their first music video was for the song, “Bringin’ On the Heartbreak”, and was the first heavy metal ever aired on MTV. Their second album was released a year later, and was called, “High ‘n Dry”. He changed the name to Deaf Leopard that he came up in his English Class, then dropped the ‘a’ to make the name, Def Leppard.ĭef Leppard released their first album in 1980, which was called, “On Through the Night”. Rick Savage was in a band called the Atomic Mass when he was eighteen. ![]() The band consisted of Rick Savage, Rick Allen, Joe Elliot, Vivian Campbell, and Phil Collen.
